Three forms of
advisory engagement.

Each is fixed in scope, duration, and fee. Each ends with something in writing. Together they cover the situations most commonly brought to us by principals across Malaysia.

How we approach every engagement

Scoped · Written · Discrete

Before any engagement begins, we hold a short introductory conversation — by telephone or in person — to assess whether the situation is one we are well-placed to address. If it is not, we will say so clearly. We do not take engagements for the sake of filling our schedule.

Once an engagement is agreed, we follow the structure specific to that engagement type. We keep the principal informed at the midpoint where applicable, and we do not proceed to the next stage without the principal's confirmation that the work so far reflects their situation accurately.

At close, the written deliverable is presented and any questions arising from it are addressed in a final meeting. The engagement then ends. All materials are the property of the client.

Conducted with discretion and in close consultation with existing legal and accounting advisers.

Restructuring Conversation

An advisory engagement for firms that need to reshape their cost base, capital structure, or organisational form but have not yet committed to a particular path. Over four weeks, we examine the situation alongside leadership, surface the quieter constraints that often shape such decisions, and prepare a written brief that lays out the realistic options with the consequences of each named plainly. We do not recommend; we equip the principals to choose.

Situational examination with leadership team — structured, not rushed

Second-order constraints and hidden dynamics surfaced

Written brief naming realistic options, not a single recommendation

Consequences of each option described plainly

Completed within four weeks — no scope drift

  2. 2

  3. 3

Week 3: Drafting — Options brief drafted; preliminary review with principal.

  4. 4

Which engagement suits your situation?

Many clients begin with a Quiet Listening Session and proceed to a more structured engagement once the question has been named clearly. There is no obligation to do so.

Standards that apply to every engagement

Confidentiality and data handling

All materials exchanged during an engagement are held in confidence. No engagement materials are retained in our systems after the close of the engagement. NDA available on request prior to any substantive conversation.

Quality of written output

Our written deliverables are prepared to a standard suitable for sharing with legal and accounting advisers. They are written in plain language, structured for clarity, and reviewed before delivery.

Independence from product interests

No referral fees, commissions, or product-related incentives are accepted. The analysis produced is shaped only by the facts of the situation and the professional judgement of the advisers involved.

One working day response

All enquiries receive a personal response from a member of the practice within one Malaysian working day. We do not use automated response sequences.

Professional memberships

Partners maintain active memberships with the Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (Malaysia Chapter), and hold professional credentials in law and finance.

Senior-led throughout

The advisers named at the start of an engagement are the advisers who conduct it. There is no delegation to junior staff at any stage of the work.
